Writing is a foundational skill that takes patience and practice. That's why it's important to me that my students find joy in the process as they learn to write formal essays, literary analysis, college essays, professional emails, narratives, and fiction. In other words, my students work hard to become skilled writers while tapping into their sense of wonder and creativity.  

Whether it's AP, SAT, ACT, or ISEE,  preparing for standardized tests is a stressful endeavor for most teenagers. In my lessons, I use high quality, authentic practice tests to support students through practice, teach test taking strategies, and discuss content beyond merely gaming a test. 

Guiding hundreds of students over the language barrier through lively discussions, entertaining texts, and meaningful writing has been one of the great privileges of my career. Students of all ages and levels build vocabulary and fluency through a variety of exercises, keeping them engaged and motivated. 

For almost 20 years, I've facilitated brainstorming, outlining, and polishing application essays that represent students in the best possible light. I'm proud to say that my students have received acceptance letters from a range of universities across the United States and Canada, including University of Washington, Stanford, Duke, University of Michigan, Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Northeastern, Pomona, and University of Toronto.

I meet with adults who are interested in practicing conversation while building vocabulary and fluency. We have lively discussions about culture, education, healthcare, and even global politics. Depending on the student's needs, my adult student may practice writing polite, professional emails, or prepping for presentations. Others may focus on more domestic concerns. Regardless of language level and goals, I cater to the specific requests of my adult students so that they can succeed in their endeavors.
